My name is Sophia Bass and I’m a music composer (28 years old) based in Chicago, Illinois. My younger sister, Catherine (26 years old), and I are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of our dear friend and wonderful human being, Majd Waleed Sbeah (26 years old) in Gaza.
Prior to the ongoing genocide in Palestine, Majd studied accounting at Al-Azhar University in Gaza and assisted his father at their family-run grocery store which served as a source of income for his family.
For 13 months, Majd and his family have suffered displacement, forced starvation and physical and psychological trauma as Israel conducts its ethnic cleansing campaign in Palestine.
My sister and I, together with a strong team of on Instagram, have rallied behind Majd and have organized on his behalf to raise funds for him to buy food, warm clothes (as winter approaches), internet data, and to also financially support his hospitalized father who suffers from a heart condition that requires urgent medical treatment.
